Well, I can't think of any way the fusion summon of a monster will ever be negated, as all fusion summons are performed while a card effect is resolving. So solemn warning won't do a lot but a magician's right hand will work just fine. It's activation can't be negated, though its effect certainly could. It only looks at the time period "when a monster is fusion summoned this way." Meltdown shouldn't care what chain link a fusion's effect is though. Well, any prank-kid's effect that isn't in the last chain link can't be ashed, so if the fusion effect is a trigger effect the interaction is accurate, but meltdown would not be needed for that, so the rationale is a bit off. I'm watching a deck profile where the player says that the prank-kids monsters can't be ash'd because of meltdown as long as you chain a fusion monster effect, but this doesn't seem right to me. I'm unsure how the interaction between the main deck prank-kids monsters and magical meltdown would work. So is it always correct to say that the effects of cards that meet their activation requirements because something else happens occur at the same 'time' as the thing that caused those requirements to be met? Or is there a simpler/ more accurate way to think about this besides the timing? I had it in my mind that the prank-kids would meet their activation requirements at the same 'time' as the fusion coming out, but their effects resolving would happen later, at a time when magical meltdown would no longer be protecting them. The prank-kids monsters undergo SEGOC, then my opponent has a chance to respond because they have priority, THEN I can activate the fusion monster effect.Ĭan someone confirm this or explain why I'm wrong?Įdit: I now understand why what is written above is wrong, but I've got a different question. The monsters go to the grave and the fusion monster comes out.
